Only 5 minutes walk to the botanic garden

Strolling through colourful garden landscapes, lying under palm trees with a view of snow-capped mountains, listening to world-famous music groups by the water lily pond or playing with what is probably the world's largest tourist pinball machine: Many things are possible in Trauttmansdorff.

There are always good reasons to visit the gardens. There are new highlights every season:

Spring: The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are blooming and sprouting at every turn: On a tour of the twelve-hectare grounds, hundreds of thousands of tulips, daffodils, imperial crowns, ranunculus, forget-me-nots and Iceland poppies can be discovered in numerous colourful carpets of flowers. Exotic camellias, Japanese ornamental cherries, colourful rhododendrons and elegant peonies as well as other flowering shrubs and blossoming trees form eye-catching eye-catchers throughout the grounds.

Summer: Now there are multi-coloured flowerbeds, fragrant English roses and Mediterranean exotics such as oleander and silk acacia form a colourful round dance. In June, the spherical lavender bushes below Trauttmansdorff Castle come into bloom. Immediately adjacent, the flower meadow with its thousands and thousands of flowering summer perennials attracts the eye.
In the woodland gardens, the white, pink and blue flower balls and discs of the hydrangea collection glow, while water lilies and exotic lotus flowers bloom almost all summer on the water lily pond. Even in midsummer, flowering shrubs and trees can be discovered in the water and terrace gardens - such as the colourful campanula and the fragrant lotus tree.

Autumn:The mild and sunny autumn days bring a final glow to the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle: Numerous evergreen plants and the colourful herbaceous borders are also worth a visit at this time of year. Purple and blue autumn asters now unfold their flowering splendour in the Water and Terrace Gardens, while Mediterranean fruits such as pomegranate, fig, olive and grape compose the unmistakable image of the south in the Sun Gardens.
In the woodland gardens in particular, the miniature forests from America and Asia now shine in warm autumn colours: from yellow to orange to bright red. Even in late autumn, Trauttmansdorff offers blooming flowers, namely the elegant autumn camellias in the palm forest and the lush strawberry trees in the Mediterranean natural landscapes.
